West Cornwall Beekeepers Association attracts beekeepers and would-be beekeepers from Lands End to Truro. The Association offers a Basic Beekeeping course open to all, in partnership with the Duchy College, Cornwall College's Agricultural Faculty, based at Rosewarne. The College also hosts the first Asssociation teaching apiary, where practical teaching takes place. Use the “search for a course” link and enter “Bee” or “Bee Keeping” for details and booking.
From September to April, monthly meetings are for talks, discussions, elections and reports, members' Honey Show and games. A monthly Newsletter is sent to most members by email. Monthly meetings from April to September are held in members’ apiaries or the Association apiary. Weekly meetings are held in the new apiary near Marazion and tuition is given to new beekeepers who do not attend the Duchy College course. These gatherings are led by more experienced beekeepers, so that those wishing to improve their beekeeping can choose sessions more suitable for them.
